Movement and Locomotion in Plants and Animals Today's article we are going to dig deep into the topic of movement and locomotion in plants and animals.  As we usually do, we will first start with the definitions and then discuss those in more details below. Movement:  It is the displacement of the body parts of an organism keeping the whole body fixed to a position.   Locomotion:  It is the displacement of the whole organisms from one place to another.   Objective:  Locomotion is carried out to achieve mainly the following purposes. In search of food. To protect from enemy and predators.
