What is Time Management?
As we all know that time is precious, yet there are never more than 24 hours in a day. Only a few of us responds to this fact of life with focus and purpose whereas others freak out. Now time and tide wait for none, but at the end of the day managing time is the most vital tool of one’s success in life. So, managing the skills of time utilization will help one to have better productivity.
Good time management is a useful personal skill for managing oneself, one’s work and of others. Time is an “ineffable resource” which is finite, so effectively managing time is absolutely vital for one’s success.

# Priorities your GOALS
Your goals and priorities are the foundation of professional fulfillment. One should prioritize the importance of meetings of clients and one’s daily routine.
- Scheduling of meeting up of clients.
- Grading the type of client to work with or meet up the same.
- Scheduling of inhouse meeting.
One must also do the day-end work analysis. The plus and the minus points of the entire day’s work. Setting up the “TO DO LIST” for the next day is absolutely vital for time management.
Fixing up of future appointments and scheduling them effectively is also very important.

# Type of Goals
Goal setting is an important method of: – Deciding what is important for you to achieve in your work. – Separating what is important from what is irrelevant. – Motivating yourself to achievement – Increasing your productivity based on measured achievement of goals. As we are all aware that a goal without a plan is just a wish. Goals can be broadly classified into two categories:
- Rational goals (specific short term)
- Directional goals (general goals for long term)
Effective ways of achieving the goals can involve the following:

- Know your Goals
- Set up deadlines

# Say NO
You’re the master of your own fate. If you have to decline a request to attend what’s truly important and urgent, do not hesitate to do so. Be prepared to move on to more productive work and always learn from you experience to avoid wasting time later on.
- Phone intervention – Marketing calls, Family calls, Friends and well wishers
- Unscheduled Visitors – Prioritize your job and then meet the visitor if so needed or else delegate the same to your juniors or schedule your meeting after the working hours (incase of a known person) or meet in the later half.
- Social Media – Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter
- Travel – Avoid unaccounted travels with friends and colleges.

# Find your Productive time
Once you have determined what you have to do and how long you have to do it, it’s important to determine when is your most productive period of the day. Are you a morning person? Set yourself an early alarm and crack on before others are awake. Or maybe you’re a night owl. Set some time aside in the evening to tackle your to-do list. You’ll soon find you’ll be at your most efficient if you work when you’re at your best or else make routine of yourself for doing all your daily job as we used to do in our school days.

Contrary to popular believe, multitasking actually makes you less efficient than if concentrated in one at a time, so try to focus on one thing, finish it, and then move on to the next task which is more efficient and saves more time.
# Delegation of job
It’s a fact that every job at your workplace needs to be done, but its not that you are the only person who should be doing it…. Identify your juniors and your colleges who are best equipped to perform the same and hence delegate the same to them, what happens is that the entire work is done and that too very effectively.
# Avoid Stress
Stress is one of the most important aspect that affects your productive job…. One should take a time out from a job to avoid the stress or the pressure of day-to-day job. Take a 15 to 30 minutes job break. At times one feels puzzled at his job space, but the best way to come out of it is take a break… have a cup of tea or coffee… roam around … don’t think what has happened … try to be blank…. But ensure that it doesn’t take long to come back.. It’s almost like a commercial break during movies or television events…
